November

In this second photo series, I attempted to take photographs of more everyday moments, or an instant that had significance. It is during the month of November that I truly started to expirement with photography by trying to find which style suited me the most. In this sense, I decided to start carrying my camera around with me everywhere, even though I knew I was not about to partake in something extremely special with my friends. The goal of always having my camera at hand was therefore to capture small moments of little importance, but that my friends and I would consider having great significance.

Over the course of this month, my camera followed me as I went to go get breakfast with friends, went to celebrate birthdays, and more, so I can say that this photo series has a special meaning to me, due to the fact that I ended up truly being able to photograph some intimate and happy moments that I did not realize were being immortalized while I was taking the picture. What I mean by this is that with film photography, it is difficult to be completely sure of how the picture will turn out to look like, since it does not appear instantly after you take it. I found this rather refreshing, the waiting process from the moment you drop your pictures off to get developped until the moment you get them back, and the anticipation you feel toward how the photos will turn out. Today, we live in a era where "instant gratification" is very much available to us, so the process of actually waiting for something is more rare than common, which is another reason why I really started to enjoy film photography, as it permitted me to grow more patience and appreciation for my realizations.

Overall, this month's photography has suprised me in the sense that the photos I had envisionned in my head turned out better than I had expected, and truly illustrate special moments spent with friends.
